Several blinking patterns let the user know the state of the probe or the moisture it is detecting. The probe will not blink if adequate water is detected in the soil. As the soil begins to dry, the probe will blink slowly. As the soil dries more the blinking will increase from a slow to a medium to a fast blink. A double blink with a pause is an indication of complete dryness or standby mode. If the battery becomes drained, the probe will have a slow triple blink. A simple turn of the power switch keeps the battery from draining. The Thirsty Light probe runs on two LR-44 lithium batteries which last up to 12 months depending on use. The probe is made from brass to resist corrosion. The Thirsty Light comes with a comprehensive and informative user and watering guide, and is backed by a 30-day manufacturers warranty.
